I don’t know what it is with me and purple flowers, but of all the colors that flowers can be, I guess I love purple the most. This photo, which is exactly as I took it with no retouching, was taken in the front yard of Alan and Liz Creech’s home in Lexington, Kentucky. It was, needless to say, a very lucky shot, since it is without a doubt the best flower photo I have taken so far.

Very nice… is it a dahlia?
Looks like a dahlia to me!
I agree, Will. There’s something soothing about a purple flower. I plant them whenever possible. However, just to keep the tropical look to the plantings around my home, I complement the purple with orange-flowering plants.
The photo is nice; I especially like the dewdrops (raindrops?) on the petals.
Well done, Will!
